At NursePartners, being a Positive Approach to Care Designated Organization is not just a title. It is a daily commitment to learning, growing, and showing up differently for those living with dementia and the carepartners who support them.
We are proud to share that Freddie Johnson, the Clinical Service Coordinator and LPN, has officially achieved certification as a PAC Certified Independent Champion Teacher through Positive Approach to Care, founded by Teepa Snow. This accomplishment reflects not only Freddie’s dedication to his own professional growth, but also our organization’s continued investment in raising the standard of dementia care.
Throughout the certification process, Freddie demonstrated strong presentation skills, a deep understanding of dementia, and a consistent ability to connect learning back to purpose and meaning. Perhaps most importantly, he has shown a natural ability to recognize those powerful “aha” moments when learners begin to truly understand how to apply Positive Approach to Care techniques in real life.
This work is about more than education. It is about transformation. Freddie has embraced the responsibility of helping others see beyond tasks and symptoms, and instead focus on the person, their abilities, and the support they need in each moment.
As with all meaningful growth, the journey continues. Freddie is actively working to incorporate more hands on demonstrations, provide in the moment coaching, and expand access to practical resources for learners. His focus on follow up and ongoing support reflects an understanding that learning does not end when a training session does. It evolves through practice, reflection, and connection.
This milestone strengthens our ability to deliver care that aligns with the principles of Positive Approach to Care. It reinforces our belief that better care starts with better understanding. And it ensures that our team, our clients, and their families benefit from approaches that are respectful, evidence informed, and deeply human.
Freddie’s achievement is a reflection of who we are at NursePartners. We are committed to developing leaders who not only provide excellent care, but who also teach, mentor, and inspire others to do the same.
We look forward to the continued impact Freddie will make as he brings these skills into the homes and lives of those we serve.
